PM Ntsokoane Matekane and his Delegation are participating in the African Union-European Union Summit in Luanda Angola from today, where member states will reaffirm their long-standing partnership and chart a renewed path of cooperation

The Summit is co-chaired by the President of Angola João Lourenço, Chairpeson of the African Union’s Commission Mahmoud Ali Youssoufin, the President of the European Council António Costa, and Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission

The Summit coincides with the 25th Anniversary of the AU–EU Partnership and Angola’s Presidency of the African Union, underscoring Africa’s growing leadership in defining global objectives

The event offers an opportunity for both continents to reaffirm their shared commitment to multilateralism, solidarity, and joint action to address common challenges

Discussions will focus on advancing joint priorities within the framework of Agenda 2063 “The Africa We Want”, the Sustainable Development Goals, and the AU–EU Joint Vision for 2030

Leaders will also explore concrete ways to accelerate progress in areas such as; peace and security, economic integration, trade and investment, multilateral governance, climate resilience and digital transformation
