The Baylor College of Medicine Foundation Lesotho has celebrated 20 years of transforming pediatric HIV care, delivering essential health services, and addressing critical medical needs for children and families across the country.

Pediatrician Dr. Lineo Thahane affirmed that, the celebration highlights the Foundation’s continued commitment to pediatric HIV care and health services. Dr Thahane showed the importance of government’s funding to sustain the Foundation’s ongoing operations and enable it to fulfill its mission of providing life-saving treatment to the most vulnerable.

Mr. Mike Mizwa- the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, acknowledged that, while the past two decades were challenging, they successfully transformed lives and built futures. Mizwa stressed that, the journey is far from over and called for the strengthening of the partnership with the government to sustain the HIV response.

Closing the event, the Ministry of Health’s Deputy Principal Secretary Mrs. Matsóanelo Monyobi described Baylor as a “beacon of hope” for thousands of families. Monyobi stated that, the Foundation has touched countless lives, with many children under its care continuing to thrive.

She expressed confidence in Baylor’s capability in fighting HIV/AIDS, asserting that, Lesotho will soon be an HIV-free country
